My Walk

My Walk

I count myself blessed in that I have not known a day without God in my life. Right after I was born, my parents started attending a local church and I attended that church more more than 20 years until I got married and moved away. Now that doesn't mean that I believed everyday of my life. Or never strayed from His law and love. Far from it!

My wife and I got married in 2001 and I joined the military in 2002. We moved away from home in probably our biggest blessing of growing in our marriage. We both loved our families, but this was a necessary step for us to grow individually and as a couple.

My first duty station was Lackland AFB in San Antonio, TX, 19 hours from home and family! We started attending a large Southern Baptist church (400+ members). Eventually, one of the pastors left and planted his own church and we went with him and several other families. Under his preaching we came to believe in Reformed and Covenant theology. After watching a friend baptize their kids, our pastors wife handed us Grace Unknown by R.C. Sproul. My wife and I read it together and at the conclusion said, "Well, I guess that means we're reformed." This was only the beginning of our journey and the path that God has taken us on. I plan on sharing more of the theologies I have wrestled with, but this gives you an idea of where I come from!
