Right or Left?

I really don't consider myself a Republican or Democrat. If I had to say, I would probably say I'm more Libertarian, but it depends on the topic. I've had almost 30 years to really consider my policital positions and I think I am fair to all sides.

Politics really isn't about right or left, but where on the spectrum are you? I am part Regean Conservative / part Classical Liberal. My conservative side wants super small federal government, term limits, I believe most things should happen in the family, church, or local/county government, not state or federal.

I do not, however, believe in the massive military complex we currently have. Did you...the USAF has boats? Why does the AIR Force need boats? Answer, they don't. Some general got a "briliant idea" to have a mission on land or decided they couldn't rely on the Navy or Army to do the required mission. I also have a problem with the Navy, Army, and Marines having planes. Why? Because we have systems in place where pilots can be trained and certified on boats or other areas! While I would not want this, if I were President, I would dismantle the military significantly! If you are a general ground soldier, you are now in the Army...don't care what you do, Military police/security forces...ARMY. If you operate or support boats, you are now in the NAVY. If you operate or support planes...AIR FORCE. If you support or are special operations...MARINES. Why does each service have it's own special forces? Army Rangers, Army Green Barets, Navy Seals, Air Force Pararescue, etc...they can keep their names and specialities, but they are now Marine Green Barets, Marine Rangers, Marine Seals, Marine Pararescue. But I would also pair those down as well.

Another thing I would do with the military is the federal military needs to be a 1,000 people. Consisting of a few generals in the Pentagon and administrators that "task" the state militaries. The state militaries should have the capability of within 72 hours fulfilling a manning requirement by the federal government once Congress has declared war. Taskings cannot go out until that happens, as the Constitution says!

On the other side, I am more liberal when it comes to things like drugs and alcohol. While as a Christian, I think these are bad things when used in excess, we are not the morality police of the world...either the US or us individually. I believe the love of Christ is what will win people over, so my job is to share that love!
