What is Calvinism?

I don't really consider myself a Calvinist anymore because I think it is too simplistic. It does not truly encompass all the aspects of the document from which it comes (Canons of Dort, 1618/19).

For those that identify with this teaching use the acronym TULIP which stands for:
- Total Depravity
- Unconditional Election
- Limited Atonement
- Irresistible Grace
- Perserverance of the Saints

The Canons of Dort were written in response to the followers of Armenius who wrote a document in 1610 that included 5 points. The Canons were written in response and they formatted in the same fashion, 5 points. However, if you read the Canons the acronym would actually be ULTIP.

I am going to post an article for each of the 5 points separately. I am going to ground these with the Canons because that is where they come from. I hope that these are edifying to you and help you really understand what is meant by "Calvinism".
